Tommy Castro Band, "Soul Shaker". Great blues band, had a strong tenor player but I forget his name, they were the house band for Comedy Central Showcase some years ago.

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew. I see why some people who loved 1965 Miles Davis were not happy with 1970 Miles Davis. At the same time I see how influential he was. It has raw spots but when it works, it really works.

Rain on the Window by John Surman and Howard Moody ( ECM)
A real return to form for me this release from JS after a few disappointing releases. John on his main three horns....soprano, baritone and bass clarinet. His baritone has never sounded so good...he seems to be playing a new low A on the sleeve ( Selmer Series 3?) after decades on a low Bb V1 and he is getting a tremendous sound..ditto on bass clarinet. I haven't liked his soprano sound since he switched to Yamaha years ago...it all started sounding a bit legit with that horrible Yamaha 62 whine but I don't mind it here. Anyway a nice release this and I will be taking it plus labrador and wife off to a remote cottage in Wales where it will sound nicely.

not sure about this one, the music is fun but the narrator guy gets a bit annoying.

Followed by this one:

I'm starting to find a new appreciation for the piano trio and this one is top notch!!
