The Shaggs, "Philosophy of the World". One of Zappa's top 10 of all time favourites. You haven't lived until you've heard them.

Sonny Criss playing 'God Bless The Child' from the Mr. Blues pour flirter CD. Recorded in Paris, 1963. Good stuff.

Went to hear/see Rossini's *Armida* starring Renee Fleming live in HD from the Met. Terrific production, great singing. There's some clarinet solos that sounded really scary to play!

I can't wait for next season, with Bryn Terfel as Wotan in Das Rheingold and again with Deborah Voight later in the season in Die Valkurie
The sets, costumes, and sfx look like they're going to a whole 'nother level!

right now I'm in my office chillin' to Ike Quebec's Bossa Nova Soul Samba CD. Both Ike and Grant Green are killing on this album (in a super beautiful melodic way!)

"The Best of Antonio Carlos Joabim" - I've heard just about every great sax player in the last 40 years play his tunes, but I really like hearing Joabim doing his own stuff. Next favorite for performance of ACJ is Paquito d'Rivera, and especially on clarinet... it just sounds right for "Corcavado."

last year my wife went to Ladie's Rock Camp and at the camp finale when all the bands played, most sounded like the Shaggs. My favorite Shaggs song (btw not on Philosophy) is the one with their Dad and Brother...I think it is "Shagg's Own Thing" (vocal version.)

You are truly a sick man.

Isn't that the one where he steals some lines from Chatanooga Choo Choo to begin some of the verses? Give me the girls.
And somebody named Vinnie should've presented dad with a pair of cement shoes years ago.

David Binney's ALISO. Great CD! Checkout, for example, the band's version of Coltrane's "Africa" (the last track on the CD).
