I just discovered this silver plated German tenor of a manufacturer that I had never seen anywhere before. It's a Sinfonia model made by Wero Roth, a small East German saxophone company founded by Werner Roth in 1949. It ceased producing in 1972 which I imagine explains why so few of their saxes have been seen outside of that country. Some of the design features remind me of B&S saxes in a way, and in fact Wero did make some stencils for B&S. That's logical seeing as how they were both located in the GDR.

Here are some photos from the ad its seller has up on Ebay.es right now. I'm putting the page link below so people can see all the other photos and read the information (it's in Spanish however), and of course bid on it should they be so inclined. I have no idea of its worth or quality as a player, but for a collecter it might be something to have. I am not shilling for the seller, whom I don't know from Mada (Adam spelled backwards) nor am I going to try and buy it myself. If I were, I certainly wouldn't be posting this here, would I?

Frankly, if I had tons of money I probably would be a collector and would definitely buy this one since it seems both little known and really well made.

If the price was a tad more reasonable I would consider it but having just bought a Pierret I will ignore it. Seller has nice Hammerschmidt also.
Interesting Kohler also on that auction site at present - also ignored. I 'think' I'd rather play a Roth before purchase. Considering all the German saxes is a Roth really worth that much?

Yeah sold it a while ago now.
Looking for another one at a bargain price.
Ideally looking for a Dolnet Baritone.

I had a Roth Baritone which was in fact a Weltklang (same company as B&S), this may be very well a B&S in slight disguise
hmm. spatula keys, especially rods from same, neck brace etc not so Weltklang like me thinks. I am less familiar with B&S however - but Roth saxes do interest me for sure....

A Weltklang or Blue Label? What a sneaky SOB Werner was if that's the case. Then again it's not a Klang....bogen, so that means it will have less emotion, which is very Germanic when you think about it.

even nowadays OEM makers offer their buyers the possibiity to make small changes in the appearance of the keywork to give the clients the possibility to sell under their brandname while selling to other people too.

B&S and Weltklang were the same factory, they both were imported in the NL by a shop (they closed business 1 year ago) Müller , you find lots of Müller saxophones which were either Weltklang or B&S.

Dolnet at bargain price? surely you jest. I just bought a Pierret from a seller also selling a Dolnet - not an easy choice
I've been lucky enough to find 3 Belair models at a good price in he past.
In the range of $400-$600 Australian dollars.
In various states of repair though.
