I left the house around 9:45 last saturday for an afternoon wedding gig at Kennedy Meadows. About 6400 feet in the sierra mountains 1.5 hours east of Sonora. Just take hwy 108 to where the road is closed for winter and go right. (I hoped) As I left I was thinking about the saying of experience being what you get when you dont get what you want. Something like that, and I was hoping that it would be more than an experience, and it was. It rained on and off all day. They had set up a tent with a stage for the band and a dance floor. Nestled along the stanislaus river. The wedding party didn't mind the weather. Cool, no COLD. It was around 42 degrees. Played with two shirts, sweater and parka and gloves. Mechanic gloves with synthetic leather and nylon upper parts work well and keep you warmer than leather. We had a good time. Better than expected from the weather.
