Don't do what I did.

Today I had an MRI so they can look at my brain. The technician got me all set up with headphones and said I'd have to lay perfectly still for about 45 minutes. The headphones were to block the loud noise of the machine, which sounds like a jackhammer. He asked what kind of music I like. I said, "Jazz."

Big mistake. Really big mistake. I had to lay perfectly still and say nothing as I was forced to listen to 45 minutes of Kenny G.

I wonder what effect that had on the readings. Wait until the interrogators at Guantanamo Bay hear about this.

that's not fair Al, you got me all worried only to end up reading a sentence about listening to 45 minutes of Kenny G. Thinking about that, I'm not so worried anymore, more like humiliated and confused. The G man owns Starbucks, so I think he'll be alright, even if his playing isn't.

I had an MRI a few years ago on my knee. I requested 'classical'. I had 45 minutes of Vivaldi 'four seasons' done by a really crappy orchestra--while the MRI banged in the background. It was kind of like 'heavy metal' meets baroque.

I would think Kenny G with the thumping of the MRI in the background could only improve the experience.

Yeah.. A few months back I got an MRI on my knee too. They didn't ask what I wanted to listen to. They just piped in the local country music radio station. I got 45 minutes of Tom T. Hall, Tammy Wynette and the local farm report.

Al,it could have been worse, the MRI could have taken an hour and a half.

When asked what music I would like to listen to having an MRI on my knee I said,"none thank you".The jackhammering sounded pretty interesting though,I almost went to sleep.

Funny, here in France it's exactly the opposite: we say IRM ....

More seriously, why are this high-educated doctors so mis-educated concerning music?

Med techs, not doctors, perform MRIs.

I offer our practice manager all kinds of good music for our waiting room sound system - The Stranglers, Jan Garbarek, the Incredible String Band, Bulgarian folk songs - but it's always Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered on piano. Why is this please?

Cruel and unusual punishment is unconstitutional, but I'm not sure you can sue for it.

I had a MRI of Brain and found only a Treble Clef!!!!!!!!!!!

At least you got to listen to something! I had to sit on that slab for an hour and listen to NOTHING! It was horrible!
