Looking for a soprano ,I found one vintage Yani with serial number 06786284, in a pretty good shape (original laquer).
My professor tested and he like it very much.
The only thing that concerns me and him is that the egraving says MADE BY YANAGISAWA instead of YANAGISAWA.
Does anybody can help me with these matter???
Is it an original ????
If so, how much should I pay for it?????
Thanks,

tHANKS,
My S6 is the only re-lacquered horn I've ever owned. Although the palm keys take some getting used to, the horn is fabulous. I purchased mine in excellent condition and paid more than what the one you're looking at costs, and I think I was treated very fairly.

All I can say is give it a try. If it plays well and you like it, $1300 is not a bad price. If it needs $500+ in pads and adjustments, you could do better.

Good Luck!

Ever heard of Stencilling?

If your horn is not an S-1, then most likely it is a S1-cloned horn that Yani made for someone else, say Martin. If you look at the sale section on Saxalley, you can see this example.

Last week, a SOTW member sent me pics of a Vito curved sop that Yani made, and it is a clone of the SC-901.

As for price, these horns come in the neighborhood of $ 1100-1300, assuming the condition is still quite good (say 80-90 % new).

Correction: I meant S6, not S1 (Buffet).
