I have been intrigued reading discussions about the older runyon's that Bird and other greats played and was wondering how you tell the difference between a vintage runyon and a new one when they pop up on ebay now and then?

Dont worry about it, just get a modern one, absolutely no difference in quality.

Best way to tell, the old ones look old!

I just bought a runyon custom #5. Havent got a chance to try it, but I heard it gives off a very loud n bright sound, cant wait.
