Any idea how Chu's horn was engraved? I can't tell from the pictures of him on my little screen. I have seen split-bell-key Conn tenors with the lady face in the pentagon, which I suspect Conn would have called "artist" rather than "new wonder".

Also, can we tell from the famous photo, whether that tenor had the old style octave train, or the more complicated later one with the little sliding rectangular blocks? Somewhere I have a coffee table book with a full page reproduction of that famous pic of Chu, but it's under a couple thousand pounds of stuff in my storage unit.

Back to the OP, I believe you've got a New Wonder 2, in gold plate, not apparently too beat up or badly worn, so a very good instrument. How much work needed to bring it up to full condition is unknown till someone qualified inspects it carefully in person.
