I am always confused with the Tip opening like Vandorens that list 1/100mm for instance the V16
T7 =265
T8 =277
T9 =295
So do these work out to 7 or 7*, 8, *8, 9or 9* ?
Thank you

T7 = 7*
T8 = 8
T9 = 8* (or maybe 8**, it's approximately = to 0.116")

The way to calculate this is divide the number given by Vandoren by 2540. That gives the result in inches. (296/2540 == 0.11614...). If you have a value in millimeters (e.g., 2.95), then divide by 25.4.

Hope this helps.

The way to calculate this is divide the number given by Vandoren by 254. That gives the result in inches. (296/254 == 0.11614...). If you have a value in millimeters (e.g., 2.95), then divide by 25.4.

Hope this helps.
Thank you for this information Skeller!

Missed a 0 in that calc. Decimal points are so exciting.

296/254 == 1.16...

So for the Vandoren numbers in hundredths of a millimeter, the divisor should be 2540. I've corrected my post above. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused. (Though it would be more exciting than a decimal point to try an play a mouthpiece with a 1.16" tip opening...)
