good day to all.... I just want to know the difference between a vandoren traditional blue box, the java and ZZ reed. Is there any difference at all with regards to their strength? How do you compare for example the 2.5 strength of the vandoren traditional reed with that of 2.5 java? Thank you.....

Yeah, there are differences. Can't remember exactly, but Wonder Woman gave you a very good link to bookmark. Off the top of my head, the java have thicker tips for some kind of richer sound effect - however the blue box is always the best in my opinion. Use them all the time on alto, but not exclusively. Gotta go plain old Rico's from time to time depending on the mouthpiece I'm using. the vandorens always give me a brighter tone, good for classical or edgy tone jazz.
