I'm a real 'greenhorn' in the world of Selmer Paris so after searchs some here and elsewhere I'm still none-the-wiser when it comes to actual value.
It's a local seller so I'm curious and I need some evaluations from the knowledgable people here at SOTW to keep things realistic.

Selmer alto 12,xxx stamped on the bell. 'British Agent'.

It's a relacquered horn but with probably 75% remaining new lacquer.
Basic, small flower-y engraving around bell stamp only and only on the RH side.
No visible dents or (badly) soldered repairs.

What is the estimated value of these relacquered horns if in 'good playing condition'?
I'm guessing $1200-1700 USD? Or is it a bit lower?

Also, more importantly how do they play? I want something to play not display! :D

PS
I've got some poor photos that I will post soon...

Hey there.
I paid around $3000 for a Tenor in the Cigar Cutter serial number range about 2 years back.
But it had just been repadded and set up nicely.
There's a tenor similar to this Alto for sale by another SOTW member (Saxmanpete) at the moment.
Can't remember what he is asking, but it might give you an idea.
If they play like the Selmer tenors of this era, you can't go wrong IMO.

I am interested in this topic as well. I have a New Largebore alto, nickel plated, in need of a full overhaul, and I might consider selling it.

Thanks B Flat I might have to give it a proper inspection and playtest.
