Useful Information for New Members and Frequently Asked Questions

Hello all,

New members (welcome) and old members frequently post things that have been repeated so many times. This is something that is hard to avoid. Very hard to avoid. Since most people don't want to use the search function, here is a small index to frequently asked questions. It won't be complete from the start, but I will progressively update this until it is more complete.

Thanks. Hope this helps.

Excellent work! Yes this should be a sticky, so that everyone with these question can ignore the sticky and post a new thread anyway - to which throngs and masses will nevertheless, then, post answers instead of directing those asking, back to the sticky.

Just search "Gary."

His name is associated with every oft-asked question on this thread.

Regarding specifics, there are a few other members associated with certain disciplines:

Origin of manufacture? Grumps
Dukoff refacing? Mojobari
Mouthpieces and jaw stuff? PhilBarone
Sound? Hakukani
Cannonball? jbtsax
Teaching in Philly? TimPrice
French verbs? Silvin
Stretch pants? saxmanglen
Castration? bandmommy
Useless posting? CarlH
Guitarist bent? Yofis
Bent Bent? Probably me.

This is only a small list, put together between working deals at a car dealership on a Sunday. If I left anyone out, like Simon or Spartacus or any other of the not-ready-for-primetime-players, it was not intentional.

Ok Jazz House, time for you to find all the threads about how much a each and every model sax is worth. Eventually half the forum is going to be in this thread! Organized!:D Great job! Helped me!

EDIT: The links that have suspension dots (...) in them seem broken.
