Use of the flute on Wizard of Oz tunes

Looks to me like what many of us would call an "alto" flute, the one pitched in G. This specimen does have a curved head, like a C bass flute does.

I've heard the G instrument sometimes called a "bass" flute; personally I think it makes sense to reserve that term for the lower C instrument.

Just to clarify.
