This is what I was gonna say tooDo yourself a favor and stay away from usb mics and adapters.
They're made mostly for podcasting (internet chat radio)
Not as good analog>digital converters (cheaper chips)
You'll have problems monitoring for track overlays
you wont be able to use anything else with it (asio only lets you use 1 device at a time)
short usb cords will put more computer noise into recordings
Get a regular usb interface and regular mics.
I usually use a MXL USB006 for my mouthpiece clips. I just bought a Yeti also. I'm going to try it out this week and see if it's better or worse or the same. But if you have to have one on the desktop the MXL Stereo USB007 has been great.
I'm looking forward to that comparison.I usually use a MXL USB006 for my mouthpiece clips. I just bought a Yeti also. I'm going to try it out this week and see if it's better or worse or the same.
That is an astonishingly good mic for the money, but is not USB.See here for a good mini-jack option recommended by Pete Thomas.
