I have a berg, 105/2, it's fine but I decided to have a play for fun. I took some electrical tape and stuck in inside on the baffle bit, raising it up.

Now the sound is more 'raspy', I guess from distrupting the air flow? neone ever done that?

What is the 'raspy' sound, is that bright or dark or open?

Handy tack...or different names for the stuff you can stick posters to the wall and not leave holes works well for this. Its a lot easier to mold and manage for temporary baffles than a wad of tape. Baffles speed air flow while simultaneously creating a smaller chamber. Most of us consider the raspy sound as being brighter or having more edge.
