Does anyone know of a good technician who can service and overhaul a Martin Committee III tenor? Preferably in The Midlands.

Hi
I don't
But unless it's in really bad shape (leaky soldered tone holes, poor neck receiver/tenon issues it shouldn't be hugely different to many horns.
It's also fairly common place in the UK so a lot of techs will have had experience of them.
Maybe @trigger could help as I think he is from the midlands and has had work carried on on various horns.
Have you seen Matt Stohrers overview video's?
I believe Stephan Howard is in the UK.

I believe Stephan Howard is in the UK.

Hampshire, though.

The two techs I use, also neither in the Midlands, are John Clark from the Woodwind Workshop in Manchester, and Steve Crowe near Huddersfield.
Paul carrington hes based in Newark, and to be honest, probably one of the best techs in the country he completely restored Mark6. Also I had which looked like it had come up from the Titanic since then he has serviced and repaired. All my horns and everyone has come back absolutely perfect, and if you need his details or some photographs of the work he’s done for me PM me
I have heard good reports about Paul Carrington too.
Dave Griffiths (Griff) is another good tech in the UK, but he is based in Exmouth and London.
I can give you contact details if you want.

I see that Pete Thomas had his Martin brought back to life by Stephen Howard
Probably not "Midlands" (not familiar with these regional names)
Another vote for Paul Carrington. He's done a ton of work for me, has two of mine right now, and did great full overhauls on my SA80II and '58 SDA altos. He can make just about anything which is missing or broken from scratch.

The other good guy in Birmingham is Matt at Sheward-MIR: Home Page

He worked for many years with Charlie Connolly when it was Connoly-MIR. Don't confuse with MIR in Walsall.

Matt overhauled my MkVII bari most recently and he and Charlie (now retired) have had many of mine in over the years.

All this is really helpful. Thanks everyone. What a great bunch you are. When my Martin arrives I'll take it to one of them for a checkover &
TLC.
I use Matt MIR for my mkVI - he’s in Oldbury (Birmingham) honestly it’s so hard to find somebody I’ve been round the block prior to finding him. Also Steve Crowe I’ve heard is very good.

ohhh
Where is it coming from?
Make sure to use THIN pads as Martins are not good with thick felt.
