I bought a Conn 16M back in 1981 for $200 and played it hard for a couple years and then life... My brother played it for a while and then I got it back and played it sporadically in the past couple decades. Recently I started playing much more but needed to get the sax fixed and the guy at the shop said it was a pretty decent horn. I got a few pads replaced and new cork all over and it seems to play quite a bit better. I've been doing some reading as to the Conns of that era and am trying to figure out when and where mine was made. It is the starburst design and has USA on the bell. Serial number is L83934. I'd be curious to know more about it.

Yup, '68 indeed - one of the last USA-made Directors.

Good horns, same body specs as a 10M so it has the 10M tone/blowing response.

Market value on one today in good playing shape around $600-650.
