so i own 2 different mouthpeices, a meyer 6m and a Vandoren T55 Java. I play on Vandoren strength 2 1/2 green java reeds, i have also tried reds, and im having functionality issues. I can play my meyer in tune, but it feels like air is getting trapped inside my mouth, so its uncomfortable, the tone is okay though. The vandoren is more free blowing, has a better sound, but I dont feel like my air support is enough and i simply just cant control the tuning of some notes very well. I would solve this by just going to a music store, but the closest one is about 3 hours away and i simply cant go there, what should i do?

If you are convinced neither of these 2 mp will be suitable you should do some research. Talk to others for recommendations, especially saxophone teachers even if you have to do it by email. Most university professors will respond. Once you have narrowed the search, order them from well-stocked stores like Weiners in NY or Woodwind & Brasswind. Their catalogs are online. They have return policies after a short trial period. After some trial periods you can find the one you want. Also, read up on the Internet on pedagogy principles regarding embouchure, support, etc. Good luck.

maybe you should ask your tech to check on your horn.
I agree that long tones will help your support and embouchure.

thankyou for the advice, i know its not my horn cause i've had the same problem since i went from my 1948 Martin Tenor to my 1960 Selmer Mark VI, but practicing longtones and overtones are about 20 minutes of practice for me everyday. Ill try all your suggestions though, thankyou
