I've not seen the sop in the flesh but I'm impressed by the Horn 88 altos that I've seen. Very solid and a decent tone.
The Sop costs a bit more than an alto IIRC which is down to ensuring the engineering is done right. A lot of cheap sops aren't up to par and have things like wobbly keywork etc.
I own a TJ tenor and have seen quite a number of instruments from them throughout the range. They tend to go from decent to very good with the Custom range being the very good ones. Basically they are Asian horns with the Custom ones being set up etc in the UK.
Over the years TJ saxophones have gradually improved. They make some nice instruments which are not just copies/ clones of existing horns. At the moment I prefer them to Yamahas.
