Trend Micro is reporting a threat each time I click on links in the forums. This link is being reported as the problem:

http://http.cdnlayer.com/drivingrevenue/dr_v4.js

Risk Level High The latest tests indicate that this site contains malicious software or could defraud visitors.
Do you have a link to the Trend Micro page where the threat has been reported?
I understand that you broke the link on purpose. Let me assure you that SOTW has nothing to do with a site cdnlayer.com. Actually such a site does not exist.

Trend Micro was reporting the link exactly as I posted it (which I did, because it didn't appear to do anything). It was using Internet Explorer at work and doesn't happen on my home computer with AVG installed on Firefox. The same warning message appeared on another forum that uses outside advertising, so I figured that was the source.

David, I think your browser has been hijacked. I had something similar a while back, and I'm not sure what caused it... but it was redirecting links from many different sites, even google, etc. And it was doing it from multiple browsers. I can't recall what I did to correct it, but I seem to remember it being not easy - at a minimum I had to uninstall all my browsers, do a registry sweep, then reinstall. You might want to go into recovery mode from before it occurred if you are using Windows (I didn't have recovery turned on, so I had to do it the hard way).

This was on a work computer that I don't have access to install programs on. I suppose it is possible that their IT department let something slip through, but I doubt it. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know, in case it was a problem with one of the ad agencies. It sounds like it isn't affecting anyone else, so that is good!

I had problems accessing SOTW yesterday from the PRC. I got through with a tunnel. Today, I can access it without the tunnel. Something is going on somewhere in the pipeline.

It was a false alarm caused by the fact that a shared resource was used. Thus the malicious software was referring to another service residing on the same server.

Anyway, the issue is now resolved and you won't see the alarm again.
