So, if I'm reading you correctly, if I were to put that data on a simple page with links, that would fix the issue?
Yes in part, but may lead to a new issue. Your website certification may be untrusted which would result in a new prompt of whether or not you want to trust downloading from this website

Meh. They've ruined the interwebs.

Bad people ruin good things lol. Most Google drive/Dropbox things are highly trusted so a preferred sharing method. But again, that 'error' in downloading directly from your website is fixable in most browsers. Just takes a couple more clicks and reading the full details of the error to find the option to allow download.

there are no full details... simply error message of zip. Download is simply canceled. And sure I would not go to settings for enabling downloads from non https site with who knows what embedded in to it in the "modern" era of seamless "adjustments" from outside.

I'm in Mozilla Firefox for a browser, and I know it's possible in Chrome.

And no, the setting would not be to allow all downloads from http sites. It's allowing a specific website to bypass that on a per case basis. But rather than continue with my day job, I'll get the sheets in a 'trusted' website and link.

Thanks, Jared. Apologies for the added work.

adjustotone -- Check out Glass Bead Games, particularly the tracks with the Cowell/Lee rhythm section. Somewhere out there in the ether (and via boot CD, apparently) is a live recording I made of him in 1982. We lobbied him to release it, but the sound was not up to par. We had shared copies with two people outside the family, who were in attendance. One of them, or someone connected to them, released it. It was recorded live at The Hasty Pudding Club (w/Clifford's permission). John Hicks/Jamil Nassir/Vernell Fournier. 12 classic tunes by a powerhouse band. Absolutely worth it.

I don't need the sheet :) ... I would like to get the backing... absolutely non existent track on tube. Rarest case :).

Ah yes, by 'sheets' I really meant all the files. The Backing is included in my upload. Definitely not of the common standards that have ready made backings! Makes it fun!

My goal in that choice. I try to make unique backings with BIAB for tunes that are under-appreciated. Based solely on my own subjective analysis, mind you. 👽

Jared, thank you for sharing... when I wrote "I don't need the sheet" I didn't see your GDrive sharing... sure it will help people who will want to participate in this TOTM or simply to try playing it.

Here's a take to prove Dirk wrong. 😂😂 Basically just running changes, but it's a starting point.

My Yani goes to the doctor tomorrow, so I'm hoping it's outpatient surgery (leaking like a sieve), so this is with the Mark VI. The Theo Wanne mouthpiece just doesn't get the sound/response I want on this horn, so it's the RPC .125B, which is to say, I'm gasping. Vienna
Honestly, this sounds great ! Who needs a Yani?? And a ver interesting choice again..

Sorry, Jared wasn't ignoring the take, just hadn't got there, yet. Listening now. Digging your sound a lot. I can tell you're being cautious, here, but I think you're close than you realize. One of the issues with the backing is the bass breaks into a walk (which I don't care for in 3/4). Maybe I'll try to mix another version that sticks either dotted quarters or dotted halfs. The piano makes it easier to follow to my ear.

I freely admit to "dumbing down" things before attempting them, but here's my take (this is in tenor key):

For the first 12 bars, you can use the C Major scale (just watch the F in the second 4 bars of that)
You can simplify to using the D Major scale for bars 13-20 (optionally adding the G# for bars 13-16). Remember, I'm over-simplifying, but it's a starting point.
F Major scale for bars 21-24
Eb Major scale for bars 25-30, down a half step to D major scale for bars 31-32, back to the top.

So:

Rectangle Font Parallel Slope Pattern

Again, this is vastly over-simplified, but if it gets you more comfortable with what you're hearing, your ear will take over from there. I've always found it easier for me to think of the major scales relative to the changes, but that's just my 2¢.

Been working transcriptions hard this week and after playing through one, I really need to just play and relax. I worked up another backing to Vienna (this one keeps the bass in the same 3-patterns as on the head), and tried a tenor take. I've been playing a Lawton tenor piece on this horn (Mark VI) that I thought was a 6*BBS, but my eyes suck and it's an 8*BBS (so much for cutting back on the open mouthpieces). That explains some of the wind issues I've been having with that setup. My 10M is getting some love at Boston Sax Shop, so I've been playing the Barone and this. I tried one take with the Barone, and just wasn't hearing it. The VI caught my ear a bit more, but I still didn't feel it so I did a bari take, as well. I don't think it's there, but it's closer.

Side note (because I don't care to start a new thread, and it kind of relates): Been working two projects very hard in the new year. 1) I got hold of a transcription of Paul Gonsalves' Newport solo, but it was very difficult to read and I didn't agree with some of the choices the transcriber made, so I've been creating a cleaner copy (similar to my charts shared here), but since I don't play keys, I'm entering everything using the computer keypad (GUI). It's taking awhile. 2) I've been transcribing a lot of songs, but rarely write out a solo. I've long felt that transcribing the aforementioned Gonsalves solo would teach one all they needed to know about the blues, but I feel pretty similarly about Yusef Lateef's solo on Grant Green's Blues In Maude's Flat. Well, I spent 10 hours on that the past two days, and finally wrapped it up.
