Hey-O! I caught Jared online NYE and he must have been impaired, because he let me pick the TOTM for January!
I'm an uber-fan of Clifford Jordan, and I love all things in 3, so this made a lot of sense. I've included a couple of links to versions (but the list is by no means exhaustive). This is a transcription, so feel free to point me in the direction of corrections. Backing is a BIAB backing with the following deets:
4 choruses, 16 bar intro, 24 bar outro (same progression as intro set up for a fade ending)
Here is a link to the backing/charts.
And here are two versions from Clifford himself. The first is from the Strata-East date In The World. When Charles Tolliver and Stanley Cowell were kicking off the musician-owned label, they didn't have much material to work with. Clifford had a bunch of stuff "in the can" including this recording. Album is absolutely worth owning.
Vienna from In The World
The second version is from the direct-to-disc (all the audiophile rage in the late 70s) recording Hello, Hank Jones! Again, a record totally worth having in your collection.
Vienna from Hello, Hank Jones! (link is to the full album, but the tune is the first song)
