Tips to Increase Tonguing Speed?

Does anyone know of any exercises to improve single-tonguing speed?
I'm not really interested in double-tonguing at the moment.
After having some trouble with quick tongued phrases I want to really start focusing on building up my speed.

Thanks.

What this one guy told me is that he plays a scale full range in 16th notes at one tempo then goes up one click on the metronome and does that until he can't go any faster. He also does it in different slurring and tounging combinations ( slur 2 tongue 2, slur 3 tongue 1, etc.).

I strongly believe tonguing speed is enhanced by the consciousness of the tongue as a limb, and one gains this consciousness by constantly paying attention to the stroke.
