Video- ( #5) I introduce one of my New School Jazz Saxophone students - John Collinge- A fantastic young Tenor Player with deep roots, and recent grad.

John & I demonstrate and talk about a Don Byas Transcription from Don Byas Savoy Compilation series "Donsby". I'm having a ball with guys like John, what we're into is NOT in books. Enjoy~:)

ALSO- Want to add....for those who_THINK_ that schools only teach certain styles....let this video stand as a statement of FACT.

Many of my New School Univ students have been into THE MASTERS. It gets to the point when JOhn plays- The Don Byas transcription he did.

CHECK OUT...what he sais on how it helped him too
. :)
