It's been years since i've played Alto Sax on the regular...(since the bari is so,so alluring...*drool*)
And recently, one of my band director's told me that in order for me to get
better, I'd have to get my mitts on a mouthpiece patch, to warm up my tone..(which I did, and me likey )
...stop playing so loud (i play louder than the entire sax section, inside, and on the field *pets the bari sax thankfully*)
but the main suggestion was prevalent at the time and still is, he said not to 'thwack the reed'....
I took from that that he meant that i tongue too hard, and i wouldnt doubt that, but i don't know how to stop it..
My old band director told me to 'really thwack' the reed when i play (i was playing bari at the time) and when i change to alto, the new guy says don't do it... and to say the least...i'm confuddled.:?
My tounge is big and hostile, refuses to play without 'thwacking' somebody help, puhlease!!!
DARN YOU! *slaps toungue* OW!
