This artist recently was brought to my attention.

"If you are a fan of Mike Phillps, Eric Darius, or the Hidden Beach Hip Hop Jazz Recordings, you will be a fan of Thurston Magill.

Coming out of Chicago, now here in LA, he recently released a SAXTAPE (mixtape for you non jazz listeners) and I have been playing it all day. The Saxtape is a compilation of original recordings from Thurst Magill. He has also redone several popular songs in his own Alto Sax style, including Rhianna's "Rude Boy".

That's kinda cool. I have a couple of my students playing Bruno Mars songs. Or Gaga. Might be interesting to do a remix using effects like he did.....

Thurston great job keeping your playing current!

Warning. You might get raked over the coals on this forum for not playing traditional jazz but I won't be one of them.

I want to hear alot more of your originals and would love to collaborate over the internet as I am heading into the urban sound and playing through a lot of wah and delay efx.
