Hi All

While the thumb hook on my alto was comfortable to play, I had issues with its location on my tenor. Its just way too low and means my thumb has to bend back too far and results in soreness. To overcome this I have taken to sticking cork pads on the back of the side f# tonehole cover to rest my thumb on. This results in a much more comfortable playing position for me.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, has anyone else removed the side F# tonehole all-together in favour of a higher thumbhook?

Hi Jerry

Its a YTS-23, which is unfortunately fixed. I still think that option would sit too low, although the extra wrap-around looks like it might help but I would have to get a thread block soldered on to try it. That may be a less destructive first step.

Thanks
