Recently I bought a cheap compilation CD of smooth jazz, and track after a couple of listens through in my car, track no 1 jumped out at me.

I'm not familiar with this palyer Euge Groove, but I sure dig his big tone, and especially the way he tastefully uses growls in his playing. So now I'm gonna try to develop this technique, which I've heard and known of but never felt the urge to pursue till now. I am sure the track will be familiar to some of you. It's smooth jazz, so if that makes you want to throw up, then don't listen to this clip :

I liked it, zorrosg. And I see what you mean about using the growl "tastefully". I've always liked a little growl although I've never learned to do it. Good luck with the new technique and thanks for sharing!
