[Turnaround]

For as rare as they are, there seems to be a lot of 30Ms for sale lately. Could it be started from 1 that went for over $6000. I'd like to have one someday.

Relaqs are much cheaper

Go for a relaq - you'll save a lot of cash. USA Horn's got one (a little ugly but who cares?) for $2800.

Mine cost a little less than that, similar condition, plays like a dream. I thought about having it completely refinished, but I think the most I'll do is have the engraving re-cut. I kind of like its gnarly-looking relaq job. No accounting for taste, I suppose.

yer, wicked good is right,
but the early the relacquer was done the better, since lacquer quality has gone down and down since the golden era.
