Well, I have a first run gold Durga with the rhodium plated baffle and it is absolutely the most beautiful mouthpiece I have ever seen. It also happens to be the best sounding mouthpiece I have ever played as well. Sorry I can't comment on the sound differences between the two as I have not played the vintified model. I know Tim Price plays one, maybe he will comment on the differences.

The vintified finish on all his pieces and horns have a "warmer" sound, less upper partials but not dull sounding in any way.

My experience. I've also found that the vintified has a little more resistance.
