Is anybody here a fan of these guys? I don't know how I missed them all these years, but I've never heard of them until a couple days ago. I'm finding some of their stuff amazingly good and a bit of it has sax in it and not just 'celtic' instruments. Anybody here know some of their material with sax????? I've found 'Don't Bang the Drum' and 'Old England'. Any help is appreciated.

yes! my wife and I actually had a band at our wedding play one of their tunes for our dance. How Long Will I Love you off Room to Roam.. probably not the best choice as it was a bit fast to dance to.. lol espeically for a guy with two left feet. Roam to Roam is a good one as was This is the Sea. My wife actually introduced me to them and had those two on cassette. Haven't really gotten anymore into them but remember it was good stuff.

Thank you all for the info. It was a live version of 'Fishermans Blues' that I heard on the radio the other night and I was hooked even before the intro ended. The song just soared from there. I'll have to look up some of the other ones mentioned here. Thanks again!!

look for a live version of fisherman's blues on youtube from a uk tv show called The Tube... its a corker. For sax ones- "A Girl Called Johnny", "Red Army Blues", "I will Not Follow" and various others off their early discs..... The Waterboys were 'the future of rock' here in the Uk in the mid 80s for a bit and going Celtic three albums into their career was a massive shift from their Van Morrison meets CBGBs (with lots of screaming tenor solos) previous incarnation.
(one of my fav bands back in the day.. still great live)
