In the Real Book, "Now's the Time" is written with a concert B in measures 6 and 9. Where did this come from? Bird never played it that way on any recordings I've heard. I understand using a B dim chord substitution in measure 6, but on the head it just sounds dumb.

Is this some copyright issue with "The Hucklebuck"?

Ah, and now you know, the Real Book ain't real. In fact in some musical circles it's known as the "Wrong Book". Depending on what generation you have, as well as what instrument it's keyed to the changes may vary. Quite often in a jab lab I was involved in, we would run into glitches where there were different changes or notations in the individual books. We would just make the corrections and move on.

I was just surprised not to see any old threads about such a well known tune. I have watched YouTube videos where people do play the concert Bs, though.
