Hi, this week I made a video on an important topic: producing the overtone series on the low Bb.
In the video I played the tenor sax, but of course you can produce the overtone series on the other saxophones as well.
The overtones are really important to develop voicing techinque, that is essential to build a good tone and a good control in the altissimo range.
Hope you like it, remember to turn on English subtitles.
I am trying to keep my schedule of uploading one videos a week, I discovered that it is something that helps me to practice more and with a more focused mind.
Hope this video can help you!
Bye, Fabrizio

I love overtones more than any other technical aspect of playing the saxophones. I can play several tones at once like a throat singer and it improves my altissimo ability tenfold.

@BrianMitchellBrody oh yes, another application is multiphonics, which sound good on tenor and amazing on baritone! I will do a video about that in the future, I am still trying to figure out some fingerings works best to play certain notes...
@adamk if you focus how to modulate your airstream and voicing (throat position) you can go to the upper notes. Higher overtones are harder to get compared to their positions used in the altissimo

The secret to all overtones and altissimo, like any other elusive technique, is not to question it. Repeat the steps religiously, and you will get there.
