This is just a shout-out about the wonderful horn players that recorded with Bill Doggett, including Fred Shepard.

I'm listening to a zillion tracks as I work and I'm just loving the sound and spirit.
These guys could make a sax talk!

I really love Clifford Scott's tenor playing during Bill Doggett's Columbia Records era, esp. the Prelude To the Blues album.

And Clifford Scott takes a great alto solo on this track with Bill Doggett. He makes it sound so easy ! I think that it has Budd Johnson on baritone too.

Rhys

PS The vinyly version on YouTube is OK but not as great as the one I know from the CD "Leaps and Bounds"

Great track. Thanks for posting. I listened to about 3 hours of this stuff today and it was a joy.
