I recently obtained Dexter Gordon's album 'Love for Sale' (One of the recordings from Montmatre) and was surprised and absolutely shocked to hear Dex singing! Is this the only recording of him on vocals? Although the lyrics don't seem to make much sense and it doesn't flow real well, I listened to the first few minutes over and over again and found it very enjoyable. I can't believe I've never heard of this before....

How did you know the lyrics? I can't understand a lot of what he says, it would interesting to compare it to a straighter version of the song.

Who's Glenn Gould?

One of the all-time greatest classical pianists and especially one of the all-time greatest (and controversial) interpreters of JS Bach. Aside from his virtuosic technique, you can always tell it's a Gould recording because you can hear him singing to his own playing in the background.

Here's an extreme example of his singing. He is never this loud in his recordings.

I've really beed listenin to a lot of that CD recently. Cherokee is nice too. My favorite live recording of his was "Its you or noone" when he says he just came off of a Scottish tour. They saw the Loch Ness monster, and he made quite an impression. I forget which CD that it's on.
