Hey! I was jut jazzing around on my new (He! He!;) :D ) Tranny tenor, and my Runyon Metal Quantum 8*, and I was playing altissimo so easily, it wasn't even funny. I was playing along with pass the peas, and I blocked out half of the sound on my computer so that I could play along with the other half of the band and no solo. I know that for altissimo you can finger the normal note and adjust your airstream, and your embouchure, etc. etc., but I didn't even have to try, I just did it like I was playing normally! I sounded like Lenny Pickett. I sounded almost like I would if you would bite the reed to get higher, but I wasn't! SWEET!!!!!!

I hate you. Not "bad" hate, you understand. Just that loving "I'm so jealous I could sceam" kind of hate. This must be how women feel when a really hot chick sits down at their table. But hey, good for you, man.

It feels good to be hated!;) :D

Thank you for your hate (Lol). I didn't know that I could even play like that! It was insane! I looked for a unique sound that when I hopefully make a record, it will not be a normal sound (but nice sounding tone as it usually is). It really sounds different. I could maybe post some sound clips, but my notebook microphone sounds really muffled when I record playing sax. I got better sound from a track phone. It is an Med facing, but the mouthpiece is great. It can be extremely flexible. You can make it play as bright as you want it to, and when you want it to be dark, it will. I don't think that I will ever switc h. As for my Conn, if Conn ever starts making quality horns again, there will be nothing else that I will ever play!

The old Conn's have always been "top tone" friendly for me as well. Actually, we have the same alto. Congrats on your discovery. Props for jammin to Maceo Parker as well!!! :)
