You have a great channel and this video was cool. Visiting Thailand has been a dream vacation for my daughter and a splash of jazz would make even sweeter.

You left out one of the most important elements of Thailand. You did not discuss the food.

Yes, the food. I'm in southern Thailand right now and the food is just spectacular. Very different from Bangkok or Chiang Mai, and spicier than either of those.
And don't forget to mention how friendly and hospitable the people are, at least outside of Bangkok. Where we're staying right now "falangs" are rare and people have been asking to take photos with me, not because of my good looks I can assure you.

Delicious food, sexy kind people, and superstar status. The mention of Thailand and my daughter will ask about our savings.
Having also been to Cambodia , Laos and Myanmar on recent trips I can heartily suggest visiting Bagan in Myanmar as spectacular beyond belief, the happiest people, the most amazing sights, perfect weather and lots of good food . I can also strongly recommend against going to Laos which was not at all pleasant and the only place we encountered unfriendly people and rip-offs/shake downs. Cambodia, particularly Siam Reap and the surrounding temples at Angkor Wat was also quite wonderful but Myanmar was unforgettably wonderful.

To not entirely derail the thread , let me ask wwdblr if Koh MrSaxman was at the saxophone conference? A great man and great player and a trip to his SaxSociety sax shop and adjoining sushi restaurant can be a highlight of any trip to Bangkok. I plan to visit him again before we leave.

We appreciate the great tips. My daughter and I wrote them down in our travel book!

Please stay in touch when planning your next trip. We can recommend some good places to stay and eat, also private drivers who have been excellent. My wife is Thai and she can share some really good info. Funny story, one of my in-laws is a police officer here. He arranged for one of his subordinates to drive us to our current hotel by the beach. On the phone they said no check in until 1PM but when they saw us arrive in a police vehicle they insisted on our checking in immediately.

Thailand loves the saxophone, mostly in the smooth jazz styles but not only.
I watched one guy play on the street in Bangkok, he played Stardust. What he lacked in intonation he more than made up for with warmth and feeling. Its a different skill set than learning patterns and changes but more enjoyable to many listeners.
