Do you think weight has an effect on sound quality? What are the lightest tenors? Heaviest?

Suspect that Pavrotti is possibly the heaviest tenor but he's in hospital at the moment.:D
I wonder what note he hits when they take his temperature?

With a well trained nurse he might even reach into an extra octave.

What's up with all this recent interest in the weight of saxes, anyway? Scales anyone? ;)

Use the search engine, using "tenor" and "weigh" as key words, and you'll find an old megathread on this one...too lazy to do it for you myself.

Ok. What is all the hooblah about Pavrotti? And don't tell me that thermometer is going where I think it may be going >_>.

I haven't notice a different of sound quality from the Yamaha Bari I play at school (heavy) and the Yani I sometimes play (lighter).
