Hi all,

Who of you ever heard of tenor player Phil Urso? I didn't, but just found a very nice clip of him on YouTube, playing in the Chet Baker Quintet of 1956. He has a very nice West Coast style tone and plays great boppy lines, with a clear influence of Lester Young in his style.

thanks for the link. I wish they would reissue all of the old West Coast stuff. Richi Kamuca and Brew Moore are two of Urso's contemporaries who also play some swinging tenor.
