I have transcribed all four soloists playing Tenor Conclave. These solos are an excellent way to learn four different approaches to "I Got Rhythm" changes. This week I have added Zoot Sims's solo to my website:

I will add one new solo per week -- up next is Al Cohn.

Enjoy!

Tim -- Thanks man!

piwikiwi -- That's the best way! When you're finished with your transcription, we can compare. Two guys almost always hear some things differently. With Zoot, there are quite a few ghosted notes. I usually put them in parentheses.

These 4 solos are a gold mine of ideas on Rhythm changes. This one by Zoot is so lyrical and his time feel is so great. That part is impossible to capture in a written transcription.
