Here is a clip of 'The Hague's Blues' as played in 1979 in The Netherlands at the North Sea Jazz Festival during a tenor-battle with Budd Johnson, Dexter Gordon, Illinois Jacquet, Arnett Cobb and Buddy Tate. Unfortunately Arnett Cobb (walking with crutches at that time) was not able to make it back to the stage to contribute to this 'encore' track.
It's not the best track of this tenor battle, but still nice to see those old hero's in action. I liked the altissimo thing of Budd Johnson at 4:50 and the high 'A' of Illinois Jacquet at 6:25 the best (he has the best high 'A' on tenor ever IMO
).
