Trumpeter Ted Curson passed away last week at the age of 77.

Ted started at the top, first recording with Cecil Taylor in the late 50's and then joining Charles Mingus for his legendary series of Candid recordings in 1960, some of the finest small group improvisation ever. Ted played alongside the fabled saxophonists Eric Dolphy and Booker Ervin on these sessions.

Ted Curson, thanks for your contributions. May you rest in peace.
