I live in Federal Way, WA which is between Seattle and Tacoma but somewhat closer to Tacoma. I'm looking for recommendations for good saxophone service (repair, re-pad, overhaul). I read a thread here on saxophone repair in Seattle but it is quite old, includes some that are no longer in business and offers nothing in Tacoma or the southside.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone had experience with Ted Brown Music repair in Tacoma?

Ted Brown Music have been around for a long time so while I have not had any repairs done by them they should be fine. Worldwidesax are in Tukwila now (they used to be up north in Everett) and are well regarded on this forum.

If you don't mind coming to downtown Seattle I would recommend Scott Granlund or Carlo Cennamo.

Scott Granlund

He's in Seattle, but came highly recommended. Scott knows older horns and I would assume modern. He replaced some pads and cleaned out a few tones holes that were causing my Selmer alto to flutter. Reasonably priced and turnaround was decent, although he's taken COVID precautions with a quarantine on the horn when he receives it. My repair was redoing work that a very reputable shop in NYC had done sub-par.

I almost bought a Selmer tenor that was serviced by Ted Brown. I wish I could remember his name, but there is a specific tech there who has a reputation for being good.
