I'm really curious about this new generation of Taiwanese horns, the unlacquered, standard-bore tenors in particular. Can anyone that plays or has tried these specific models describe their experiences? Not looking for mechanical or cosmetic differences, but your perception of the sound and feel (dark, bright, focused, spread, free-blowing, etc.). Maybe even some comparisons to horns of the past as a point of reference.

As a relative newcomer to the forum, you will find if you search around there there is a wide divergence of opinion on whether the finish of the sax has any effect on the tone color per se.
