Of all the SYOS Signature pieces, I've been most interested in the Dayna Stephens models (s/t/b). I really like the sound you get on the sop. Out of curiosity what horn are you using on that clip?

Steve - Yes Theo was making an experimental dark version of the Gaia 3. If you are interested you should talk with Spooner or contact Bryan Vance (604-312-7478) at Theo Wanne to see if they have any hanging around. It was a short run so I'm not sure if there are any available.

Thanks for this great review. You really did the manufacturers a real service by writing such a detailed write up about your experience with it. I've spoken with others about this mouthpiece who originally viewed these mouthpieces as a childish joke but were pleasantly surprised when they actually played them. I'm on the fence about the colours. Part of me appreciates the vivid colours and part of me finds them somewhat tacky and I switch back and forth all the time. Still a great review.
Thanks! If any of you guys decide to try one based on the review, remember to use the coupon code at the end of the review for 5% off. NEFFSYOS . I also receive a small commission when you purchase from the SYOS website using the 5% off coupon code NEFFSYOS above that helps to support my site. Thanks, Steve

Before I came across this thread and Steve's review, just from listening to Dayna's playing on the SYOS site, I went for one of these mouthpieces, too (in an 8*). Same reaction—loved it immediately; I definitely recommend it.

(And thanks to Steve for the fantastic site and detailed mouthpiece reviews—I have a Gaia tenor piece because of his reviews and multiple sound comparisons.)
