I had a question. I'm goign to be playing this song with my friend, we will be using an aebersold recording. Does the aebersold recording break from the changes written in the real book (see here: http://valdez.dumarsengraving.com/RealBooks/RealBook5thEditionEb.pdf) and go into a c minor blues, or does it follow this progression? If so, what would be good to improv over this? Thanks.

Also, what would an example chord progression in a minor be? Not just the ii - V - 1, leading up to the ii as well.

The solo section for "Stolen Moments" is typically a minor blues form.

Try transcribing a few choruses of one of the greats on a minor blues, like Lou Donaldson's "Blues Walk".

The Aebersold goes to a basic minor blues for the solos.

The changes they use in C minor are 4 bars of Cm7, 2 bars of Fm7, 2 bars of Cm7, one bar of D7#9, one bar of G7#9, 1 bar of Cm7, 1 bar of G7#9.

I strongly recommend listening to the original recording, from Oliver Nelson's The Blues and the Abstract Truth. Great solos by Freddie Hubbard (tpt), Eric Dolphy (flute), Oliver Nelson (tsx), and Bill Evans (pno).

Oliver Nelson also played alto on that album I think.
