Another great multiplayer-video, Merlin. Really fun to listen!
The "real", blueshirt saxes sound a bit different to me than the green-and black brass saxes, more direct so to say. Just out of interest: Did you record/mix them in a different way or are these just the different voicings typical for these sections?

Could be how I mixed it, but I also used different mics for each section.

The trumpet parts were done with a small diaphragm condenser mic to try and emphasize the edge. Bone parts were done with a large diaphragm dynamic mic, to bring out the body. Saxes were done with my usual large diaprhagm condenser.

Whatever it is I like the sound of it! I still have my 889 that I talked with you about 10 years ago. I just hate polinshing it...

Yep, still the original 889. I don't do enough tenor gigs to upgrade.

Yeah! Great sounds. It has a good overall mix and clean, natural, pleasing sound. I don't think I have heard anyone else do a big band chart with all saxes like this.
