I kinda wish I could. I do automobile controls calibration, it's been deemed critical work and it can't be done at the house. So I spend a good chunk of the day in isolation in a vehicle, driving all over the county taking data, calling friends and listening to a lot of music.

If things were different I'd go a lot farther, lunch at the Frontera Grill in Chicago would be great. There are horns in Indianapolis, Columbus and Cleveland I'd like to look at. But right now it's about impossible to find a loo except at home and I don't much feel like digging cat holes in the Midwest this time of year.

Not complaining: thank God I still have a job.

Hi Everyone,

How many of you staying home and practice inside? I think its better to stay inside due to corona virus....!!
i've always liked practicing on the roof of the condo. i can play out without exacerbating my tinnitus and enjoy bouncing echos off of various buildings in what seems like a ghost town. now with many less vehicles rumbling by, i might try some laptop recording up there just for grins.

While I'm working from home for my day job (for another week as I'm retiring) I've kept my 1925 King curved soprano next to my work laptop. Never have had much time to spend with it in the past but I'm loving it now.

I am working from home and I am practicing more than I have in many years! (I needed to practice more!) Ironically, I purchased a new horn and then all of this hit. So practicing is opportunity to play.

I am horrendously unmotivated.
I am getting nothing done.
It is pathetic.
I am sitting around doing nothing I’m sorry to say.

I'm utilizing the time to regain my flute chops. I forgot how much I enjoyed playing the flute & ignored it for several years. It seems that finger technique is harder than embouchure. Also, covering the open holes is a problem. Put corks in a few and that's helping, but I want to be able to play "corkless" eventually. Great incentive to practice. Taffanel, here I come.

I can relate. I'm getting my regular practice time in, but I have to admit I'm losing motivation. This is what sometimes happens to me when I have no gigs (or even rehearsals, or jams) coming up. I need to set some goals and start measuring my progress toward them, or this will wind up being a wasted opportunity ...

The feeling here is pretty somber and gloomy; I've been playing along with some solo piano music, mostly clarinet and will incorporate some sop sax as well. Did some partial rebuilds and small cork and felt upkeep on my sopranino, sop sax and both Bb clarinets, Selmer and Buffet. Played some guitar last night as well; it was nice to fire up the amp again, too. These are trying/desperate times for sure and, being so close to the suffering that's going on is something that's impossible to tune out.
