I'm teaching myself the Stars & Stripes piccolo solo in the key of Ab (I believe that's the standard key).

My plan is to start slow, with single tonguing and no trills, and as I become more adept, gradually adding the trills and double-tonguing the 8th notes.

Are there any tips or tricks anybody could offer? Is just a matter of starting slow and working it up gradually? Thanks!

Remember that the orchestra key is different from the band key. Db piccolo band parts should be the same as C orchestra parts as I recall.
Well, I'm playing from the actual C piccolo part from the band arrangement. So I figure I'm safe. Good point, though.
