Stan Bronstein, a great multi woodwind player , passed away last week. He was best known as the sax player with Elephants Memory band backing up John Lennon. He was a well rounded musician that played many styles of music. There are many videos of him in You Tube ( I do not know how to post this stuff) There is a cool one of him leading a big band in You Tube (Swing Fever with Stan Bronstein)
Another fine musician gone RIP

Didn't know the man, but just checked him out.

Like this energetic tenor solo from a live concert with Dave Keyes Band Blues to Bop from 1995:

(He starts his solo with the same notes as Illinois Jacquet's famous Flying Home solo!)

mrpeebee, thanks for posting that. I don't know how to post things from You Tube. I believe that video was at a festival in Italy. Look at all the people there. I hope we get back to that some day after these trying times we are in. Stay well and thanks.

That's a real natural sax player right there.
I love hearing guys like that. No riffs or patterns being thrown at you left and right, just heartfelt soul and energy!
100% spot on. Heartfelt energy and soul. He was a very schooled player but had the ability to bring the FEEL and soul which is lacking a lot today. He will be missed by many that were familiar with him
